Paint Colors

There is representational art and there is abstract art. I read somewhere that an artist cannot become good at abstract or modern art without being good at traditional art which represents everything faithfully as it appears. Thus an artist who is not able to draw or paint a regular tree, house, table, chair, flower etc may not be good at art that draws a chair but it looks abstract. The definition of abstract art is "art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures." "The term modern art is usually associated with art in which the traditions of the past have been thrown aside in a spirit of experimentation. Modern artists experimented with new ways of seeing and with fresh ideas about the nature of materials and functions of art." If a person who is not good at traditional art, paints a modern abstract picture no one will take them seriously. So it is really very important to learn to draw and paint the basics first well.
