Pillows made by hand
Here are some pictures of hand made pillows. Around 10 years ago some of my favorite colors were green and pink. These pillows reflect the liking for green and pink colors.
I made the pompoms by hand with yarn. I sewed the ribbons and the ruffles. I did the embroidery. I sewed in the lace. I totally enjoyed myself in this world of color, fabric, yarn, ribbon and lace. These are old pictures.

Autumn Vignette
I made this autumn vignette on the top of the fridge. I filled a pumpkin shaped bowl with fruits such as apples which are definitely a fall fruit although they are available in grocery stores year round. There are other fruits in the bowl too. I drew two pictures of a branch and a leaf and framed them and rested them against the cabinet. I placed a branch with autumn colors in a glass of water, and a figurine of a girl and candles. These pictures too are from years ago. Right now the top the fridge is not as pretty as this. But this picture inspired me so posting. I am not sure if the picture of the girl figurine and candles is another vignette.

Autumn Colors
The blog land is full of fall decorating ideas and here is my contribution to the plethora of great ideas. Deep burgundy, moss green, earthy ochres bordering on gold, rich browns -- these are the colors of nature around this time of the year as we head into autumn. Here are a few pictures of stems from a tree near our home which were taken by me many years ago. Using these stems as inspiration I decorated the dining table. Placing the stems with the round red fruits was an idea I saw in another blog earlier. I just tried to replicate the look in that blog. I still had these pictures and they inspired me so posting again. The table cloth is embellished with two ribbons. If you search earlier posts you may find these exact same photos. I was unable to blog for the past two weeks due to a short holiday in India.
Autumn Ambience
An easy way to add a touch of autumn to your home is by stepping out of your house and walking around in your yard. Or you could take a walk in a nearby park. If you see a branch with leaves in autumn colors you can just bring it home and immerse it in a vase containing water and you immediately have a feel of fall in your home. If you don't have a vase any glass jar would do. Seeing the stems in the water is part of the magic. This is a way to bring nature indoors too. These pictures are from years ago. I found a stash of old pictures of our home in my blogger folder. This is from that. This year the fall colors are not there yet in our area. Reposting with additional details!
