Rain

Yesterday it was raining a lot. I stood in the family room and through the glass doors tried to photograph the rain. I wanted to get the image of water droplets falling through the air. But I could not get that image. These are the images I got. Wet porch dry leaves scattered on the porch. Plants huddled in the porch. Trees out in the yard. As you can see the porch looks unsightly. What are some good plants that can be placed in the porch this time of the year in the midwest? Would you have any idea? Could you let me know in the comments.
