Chicago

Last year this month I visited Chicago with my son to see my uncle, aunt, cousin and his wife. I had such a beautiful time. One evening I went with my cousin and his wife to downtown Chicago. Here are some pictures.

Chicago on Lake Michigan, Illinois is one of the largest cities of the world. The word Chicago comes from a Miami-Illinois word shikaakwa. Miami Illinois is a indeginous Algonquin language spoken in the US primarily in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Western Ohio and adjacent areas along the Mississippi river. Chicago is the third most populous city after New York and LA. Chicago is a hub for finance, culture, commerce, industry, education, technology, telecom and transportation. It is the financial center of the US midwest. It has the largest and most advanced derivatives market in the world generating 20 percent of all volume in commodities and financial futures alone. The Chicago area has one of the highest GDP in the world generating $689 billion in 2018. Chicago's economy is diverse with no single industry employing more than 14 percent of the work force. We visited the Illusions museum.

It is a great city to walk around in. The buildings are very impressive. It has a distinctly cosmopilitan yet American/midwestern feel. If you would like a weekend getaway, Chicago is certainly the place to go.
