The tomatoes are red and yellow.
They are round no, spherical.
Their skin is soft and smooth.
Plunge a knife into the soft plump flesh of a tomato and out pours forth tomato juice.
A translucent light liquid that flows into the plate.
There are seeds too. The seeds spill out from the tomato and are coated with a slippery wrapping.
Inside the flesh of the tomato is a version of the flesh of the watermelon.
Not taste wise but color wise.
Tomatoes give us lycopene, vitamin C, folate and potassium.

Last week we got a whopping 30 pounds of tomatoes from a neighbor. I made cauliflower curry and pasta sauce. A day later in the night my mind made a poem about tomatoes.
This is the result of my poetic endeavors.
