Inheritance

Inheritance! Our parents with all the love have given us what they have which is a mixture of what they received from their parents and they themselves acquired.

For some reason I was interested in this topic and decided to write about it. Here is what I wrote about inheritance. 

One day I felt I inherited contentment from my grandfather. 

I have inherited so many likings for so many things from my parents. 

From my father love for books and poetry. 

From my father a love for economics and philosophy.

From my father a love for  reading. 

From my father a love for writing. 

From my father and mother a love for hair care. 

From my mother a love for sarees. 

From my mother a love for fabrics. 

From my mother a love for fashion. 

From my mother a love for collecting beautiful sarees and salwars. 

From my mother a love for work on fabrics such as embroidery. 

From my mother an appreciating of the textile heritage of India not understood intellectually but just aesthetically. 

From my mother a love for jewelry. 

From my mother a love for sewing. 

From my mother a love for dressing nicely. 

From my mother a love for diy skin and hair care. 

From my mother a love for flower arrangements. 

From my parents I learned to respect everyone. 

From my parents I learned to live within my means. 

From my parents I learned to not like too much non veg. 

From my parents I learned to love simple food. 

From my father I learned to appreciate nature. 

From my mother I learned to collect plants. 

From my grandfather I learned to love church. 

From my grandmother I learned to show generosity. 

From my grandfather I learned integrity. 

From my grandfather I learned to avoid evil. 

From my parents, grandparents and extended family I learned the sacraments. 

From my father and mother I learned not to be ostentatious. 

From my father and mother I learned sincerity. 

From my father, mother grandparents and all Indians I learned to respect other religions. 

From my father I learned to like Indian mythology stories. 

From my father and grandfather I learned about dedication. 

From my mother I learned about being a pleasant person. 

From my mother I learned the importance of humility and patience. 

From my father I learned the importance of your work speaking for you. 

From my father I learned the importance of having courage to speak to an audience as in being a anchor for a happy show. 

From my father I learned the importance of not complaining. 

From my father and mother I learned the importance of having my own viewpoint. 

From my father I learned to appreciate painting. 

From my father I learned the importance of painting lots and lots of paintings. 

From my father I learned the importance of writing every day. 

From my father I learned the importance of appreciating other cultures and art forms whether it be dances from Russia, or Czechoslovakia or music from US or Germany. 

From my father I learned the importance of developing your talents. 

From my father I learned the importance of being self reliant. 

From my father and mother I learned to appreciate good movies. 

From my father and mother I learned the importance of spending time wisely in a holy way.

From my father and mother I learned the importance of raising kids who love others. 

From my grandfather, my aunt and my mom I learned the importance of prayer. 

From my father I learned that religion is loving, peaceful, about serving others and loving others. 

From my father and mother I learned the value of education, knowledge wisdom and information. 

From my parents I learned the importance of allowing  children to follow their own interests just as my parents showed that respect toward me in allowing me to like the things I liked.
