Christmas Trees from previous Years

Here is how our Christmas tree has looked like in past years. This year we have not yet bought a tree.
This picture may have been taken before the lights were put on the tree.
I like this particular ornament a lot. It was a reward for excellence in work while working in a store. To motivate the employees the store managers always give little gifts to employees if they meet specific goals. During one such event this pink ornament was my gift. It is made of some special kind of glass.

Matching Ornaments and bowls, Coffee table decoration for Christmas

Last year after Christmas was over and while I was putting away the Christmas ornaments and decorations I saw a lavender easter basket lying around. Below is a picture of the lavender basket and the purple ornaments that made me think of matching ornaments and containers.
I had purple or a set of ornaments in different shades of purple that I used for decorating the tree or something else but I had this idea of matching the bowl or container to the ornaments in it. My idea was to place the ornaments in different shades of purple in the lavender basket. But I could not implement this idea because Christmas was over by the time I got the idea of matching containers to ornaments. So this year I decided to implement that idea with a blue bowl and matching blue ornaments.
A picture I took yesterday afternoon. The bowl is filled to the brim so the color of the bowl is not visible.
So I removed a few ornaments so the color would be visible. This picture was taken early this morning so the light is dim and so even the color of the ornaments look different. I had a ceramic bowl made by my child which was painted brown and I filled it with gold ornaments because gold is sort of similar to brown. And I did not have brown ornaments.
I placed more ornaments from the blue bowl to a coppery bronzy bowl for now. If possible I may match ornaments for the huge copper bronze bowl.
Here is how the living room looks now. The blankets on the sofa were given to us in 2008. They are no-sew blankets. There were four blankets and two were Christmas themed. One has the picture of Santa and one is nativity.
Here is the coffee table.
After looking at other pictures in the internet I feel as though I should add flowers or a plant to the table.

Christmas Decoration - Two Looks

Here is a wintry frosted look that I tried one year. The flocked wreath, tinsel, small house and gold trees contribute to this look.
Here is another look with more green. I wanted to fill the marbled area in front with round ornaments. But just placed a few. I wonder how the marbled area will look if I place a lot of ornaments on it. These two small pre lit trees add so much light.

Christmas Decorations

Here is how I decorated the mantel a few years ago. I made the stockings by myself with felt, paint, ribbons and handmade pompoms. The wreath is a grapevine wreath from hobby lobby which I embellished with christmas ornaments.

Christmas decorations

Yesterday I added some lit faux greenery to the mantel. I learned to decorate the mantel from other decorating blogs.
Garland between the family room and living room.
I filled two lanterns with pastel balls. Last year I added string lights to the lantern.
The four pictures above are from previous years when I added stringlights to both lanterns. This year I am yet to add the string lights.
Christmas lights add a soft glow to the home during Christmas. One day, several years ago I heard a dj say that he just likes to watch christmas lights in his home. I learned to appreciate the lights in our home after I heard that. I loved lights and loved to decorate but did not know that we can just enjoy the soft glow of Christmas lights no matter what the source --the christmas tree, nativity star, or other sources.
