These fragile tender pastel lilac delicate flowers with pale purple flowers blossom in May every year.
They are very punctual.
Around the time of my younger son's birthday they bloom.
They bloom for less than a month.
After that they are just a green shrub.
In winter snow sticks on the plant.
Two days ago or so I looked at this shrub and saw only buds.
Now they are full of flowers. There are still buds but slowly they will become flowers till the entire bush is full of flowers. This only lasts for two weeks. These same flowers are there in the Walmart parking lot. When we first moved into this house every week without us planting anything there was a new flower blooming in the yard. We moved in March. Soon one flower or another started blooming in some part of the yard. One week it was the daffodils. Then the red flowers on a tree. Then white flowers on another tree. Then pink flowers on another tree. Then these purple flowers. Later pink flowers will bloom on another plant. I am hoping to take lots of pictures of this plant during its blooming season this year. Shall share.
