Inspired by the Grocery Store

One day last week my g cart was filled with the items pictured above. In a burst of inspiration I wrote the following paragraph. Today I went to the g store. One thing I am loving is finding things in the g store, paying close attention to the brands, the description of the food item etc Like just think about the people behind the veggies and fruits, the cashews, and the raisins and the milk and butter. Today I bought cashews by planters for 4:48. Last time, I bought cashews it was by fareway. Today I bought Kerry gold butter. It is made from milk that feeds on pure Irish grass. The raisins are by sunmaid. The onions are by some farm. The milk is by prairie farms. One thing is imported. That is butter. It is imported from Ireland. The cashews may be from India. The raisins from California. The raisins have a story to tell. The cashews have a story to tell. Butter has a story to tell. Milk has a story to tell. Onions have a story to tell. How they got to be sitting on the shelf in a grocery store in Iowa. The long road they travelled. Read the packaging. It tells us the ingredients. It tells us the nutrients. The vitamins contained in each spoon ful. It tells us what the producer wants us to know about their product. Some tell it with a lot of fanfare. Some tell it quietly and matter of factly.
